The Challenge
A website that was hard to change was becoming a website that was out of date
Codenyx needed a stronger and more flexible website experience to present its technology and IT service offerings clearly. The requirement was not only to refresh the front end, but to fix the reason the front end kept going stale: content was difficult to manage from the WordPress backend.
The underlying pattern
This is a common and expensive failure mode. A site gets built as a set of fixed page layouts, where content and structure are fused together. Every later change — a new service, a reordered section, an updated capability list — means editing the layout itself.
The consequences follow predictably. Updates get deferred because they are not worth a development request. Deferred updates get batched. Batched updates get skipped. Within a year or two the website describes the business as it was at launch, and every small correction carries both cost and the risk of breaking a page.
For an IT services company this is a particularly poor trade. The offering changes as technologies and client demands change, and the website is where a prospective buyer forms their first view of whether the company is current. A site that cannot keep up is not a neutral asset — it actively argues against the business.
The front-end problem
Separately, the existing experience needed work. Codenyx needed a more structured and modern website to present its technology and IT service offerings clearly, and a B2B buyer comparing providers needs to establish quickly what a company does and in what depth — without reading every page to find out.
What needed to be solved
Improvements to overall layout, content structure and user experience.
Managing website sections from the WordPress backend had become inflexible.
Content elements needed updating without modifying the complete page structure each time.
An organised backend able to support new sections, content updates and future requirements.
A structure maintainable and expandable without development work for every routine edit.
Service and solution information genuinely easy to explore for a B2B buyer in comparison mode.
Consistent presentation across screen sizes, since B2B research often starts on mobile and finishes on desktop.
How we framed the brief
The challenge was to improve both the front-end website experience and the WordPress backend functionality. Fixing one without the other would only have delayed the same problem: a beautiful site that becomes inaccurate, or a manageable site nobody wants to read.
What We Did
We revamped the front end and rebuilt the backend that controls it.
Our approach
Fameweb revamped the Codenyx website, working on both the front-end experience and the WordPress backend structure. The central decision was to stop treating page content as part of the layout and instead give each recurring content type its own structured fields.
The test we designed against was deliberately simple: can the next change be made by the client, without us? Any structure that failed that test would recreate the original problem on a newer site.
01 — Website Revamp & UX Improvements
We revamped the overall website to create a cleaner, more structured and more professional digital experience, refreshing the structure and key sections across more than 20 areas of the site.
Page layouts and content presentation were improved so Codenyx’s services and solutions are easier to explore. For an IT services buyer that means being able to establish scope and depth quickly — what the company does, how seriously, and whether it covers their specific requirement.
We also worked on responsive layouts so the experience stays consistent across screen sizes. In B2B this matters more than it is usually credited: initial research frequently happens on a phone, and a layout that breaks there removes the company from consideration before the desktop visit ever happens.
02 — Advanced Custom Fields
We developed more than 10 Advanced Custom Fields within the WordPress backend, creating a structured way to manage recurring website content.
Instead of a page being one block of layout and copy mixed together, each repeating element — a service entry, a solution block, a feature list, a section heading — became a defined field with its own input. Someone updating the site now fills in a form rather than editing a page builder.
That distinction is the whole project in miniature. A form cannot be used to accidentally break a layout. It constrains what can go wrong, which is what makes it safe to hand to a non-technical team member — and that, rather than the fields themselves, is what actually keeps a website current.
The practical effect is that routine content updates stopped being development work. Sections can be updated without manually rebuilding page layouts, and the layout cannot be damaged by a normal edit.
03 — New Sections & Page Elements
We developed and implemented new website sections and page elements based on Codenyx’s requirements, building each as a reusable component within the new field structure rather than as a one-off piece of markup.
Building components rather than pages is what makes the next requirement cheap. A section built once as a reusable pattern can be deployed again wherever it is needed; the same section hand-built for a single page has to be built again every time.
Website elements were fixed and refined throughout development as the structure settled.
04 — Backend Structure Built for Scale
We improved the overall WordPress backend structure to make regular content management more efficient, structuring the site with future scalability in mind. The new backend provides a foundation that can support more than 30 additional sections and updates as requirements evolve.
The front-end design was connected to this more flexible backend so the website functions as an ongoing digital platform rather than a one-time development project.
This is the part of the engagement that pays out over years rather than weeks. The visual refresh is what the client saw on delivery; the structured backend is what keeps the site accurate long after the project closed.

The Outcome
A cleaner website, and a backend the client can actually run.
A revamped website with a more structured front-end experience and a flexible WordPress backend designed for easier content management and future updates.
The visual refresh is the visible half. The structured backend is the half that determines whether the site is still accurate in two years — and it is the reason this project does not need repeating.
10+ Advanced Custom Fields
Recurring content turned into structured backend inputs, so routine updates no longer require touching page layouts or involving a developer. Updating the site became a task rather than a project.
20+ sections refreshed
The website structure and key sections reworked for a cleaner, more consistent digital experience across the pages a buyer actually visits.
30+ further sections supportable
The new backend structure provides a scalable foundation for adding and updating sections as requirements evolve, without structural rework.
Improved User Experience
A cleaner, more consistent journey across key pages, with services and solutions easier for a prospective client to explore and compare.
Stronger Front-End & Back-End Integration
The user-facing website and a more organised, flexible backend now work as one system rather than two separate problems.
What this unlocked
Codenyx can keep the website aligned with its offering as it changes — at the speed the business changes, not the speed of a development cycle.
Advanced Custom Fields created a more structured way to manage recurring website content from WordPress.
The website structure and key sections were refreshed to create a cleaner and more consistent digital experience.
The new backend structure provides a scalable foundation for adding and updating website sections as requirements evolve.
